FAQs

How large does the marquee need to be?

The size and shape of your marquee will be determined by the number of guests, the type of event and the planned site. However, as a rough indication:

  • For a buffet event allow approximately 8 square feet per person
  • For a seated event allow approximately 15 square feet per person

Extra space will be required for the dance floors, bar area and catering areas. We will help advise you on the best size and shape to suit your occasion.

How much will the marquee cost?

Once you have an idea of numbers and the date of the event, use our quick and easy 'Quotation Request' form to obtain a provisional price. Alternatively we offer a free no obligation site visit to inspect the proposed site and discuss your requirements in more detail.

How long is your marquee hire period and when does the marquee go up?

For a weekend event, the marquee is yours for both Saturday and Sunday (unless otherwise specified). During the week, the length of the marquee hire period is by arrangement.

Marquees will normally be erected on the Wednesday, Thursday or Friday before the event and dismantled on the following Monday or Tuesday.

If you have a preference we will always try to accommodate this.

Grass or hard surface?

All our larger marquees are the traditional style with king poles and guy ropes. They are ideal for all lawned areas and their versatility means they can even be used on uneven fields.

Will your marquee damage our garden?

Our specialist teams are always careful when assembling and dismantling the marquee to ensure that lawns and gardens are left in good order. Grass that has been covered for a few days will not look at its best but recovery will be swift. We recommend that the lawn is mowed a few days prior to the marquee being assembled to keep damage to a minimum.

Can the sides of the marquee be removed?

Yes. If the weather is warm enough or you would like to take full advantage of the views, the marquee walls can very easily be removed to enhance the atmosphere of the day.

Can the marquee be connected to a building?

Yes. The marquees can be used as an extension to the building building if the space is suitable. Covered walkways are another option.

Peace of mind.

All our marquees, covers and linings are fire retardant and wind load tested to conform to British Standards.

Damage waiver against damage to persons or equipment caused through negligence by Carousel Marquees is included in all our quotes.
